Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson has been cleared to start the team’s week 9 game against the Arizona Cardinals.

This annoucement is no doubt welcome news to Browns fans, but I can’t help but be skeptical to think we may see P.J Walker by the second quarter on Sunday.
When the Browns signed Deshaun Watson to a 5-year, $230 million contract the front office thought they had finally solved the long-running issue of Cleveland’s quarterback carousel. They were wrong.
The Deshaun Watson experiment has been a complete and utter disaster, even for the laughably low standard that the city of Cleveland has set itself.
In 10 career games with the Browns, Watson has thrown for just 1,785 yards, 11 touchdowns, and 8 interceptions. That is not good.
Things boiled over to a tipping point last week, when Watson went out with an apparent injury, was cleared to play later in the game, and head coach Kevin Stefanski opted to stick with XFL legend P.J Walker over his $200 million quarterback.
When talking about his inability to be on the field, the now 28-year-old quarterback said “this is the most guilt I’ve ever felt”.

Either way, Watson practiced in full on Friday and will be ready to go against Clayton Tune and the Cardinals. It remains to be seen if he’ll be effective enough to hold off the impending greatness of backup quarterback P.J Walker.
