FLY EAGLES FLY!!!
After losing the Super Bowl in 2022, the Eagles started the 2023-2024 season off 10-1. While the Birds didn’t look phenomenal, they were winning the games against big opponents.
The vibes in the city were great. Heck, they just beat the Cowboys, Chiefs, and the Bills. Everything was going the Birds way. Until it wasn’t.
The next week the 49ers walked into Philadelphia and absolutely manhandled the Eagles 42-19. After that, the Cowboys manhandled the Eagles 33-13.
All was good and well though Philly was still 10-3 and about to play the Seahawks without Geno Smith then the Giants and the Cardinals, who were both terrible all year.
Oh man oh man. It hurts (no pun intended) writing this.
The Eagles choked against Drew Lock’s Seahawks, almost blew a huge halftime lead to the Giants, then lost to the Cardinals to blow the division lead. Philadelphia entered the playoffs as a 5-seed vs the 9-8 Tampa Bay Buccaneers and all the hype was gone.
I’ve never seen a team and a fan base have zero cares for a Playoff game. The soulless Eagles lost 32-9. The season was over. The Eagles were the laughingstock of the town. No one could believe what happened.
Just this past week two of the franchise’s icons and team leaders, Jason Kelce and Fletcher Cox, retired.
What was general manager Howie Roseman going to do to bring the Eagles back from the dead? How was Howie going to make Philadelphia proud enough to chant the Eagles fight song again?

He acquired a stud young defensive end Bryce Huff, brought a stud DAWG safety back in CJ Gardner-Johnson, brought in a new linebacker Zack Baun, a new guard Matt Hennessy, and a solid depth receiver in DeVante Parker.
Wow what a freaking offseason Howie, filling a bunch of needs and getting younger while doing it. I love it!!
Oh yeah I almost forgot, the Eagles also got an absolute BEAST. FORMER PENN STATE NITTANY LION RUNNING BACK SAQUON BARKLEY!!!
Now this move does a lot of things for the Philadelphia Eagles.
First and foremost it shows that the Eagles mean business. After seeing what Christian McCarthy brought to the 49ers, the Eagles got their own explosive running back.
You know what this move also did? It brought EAGLES PHEVER BACK!
The Eagles are back to being the talk of the town. Saquon is just the right move to get the fans pumped up and ready for fall. Now Howie, that is how you change a teams, and a fans, culture!!
