UGH! Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has played his last game this season, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapport.
The blow is obviously devastating news for the Bengals, and the NFL in general, as one of the best quarterbacks in the game is set to miss out at a chance to get back to the Super Bowl.
Burrow’s season was filled with injuries. The Bengals got off to a horrendous start mainly due to Burrow virtually playing on one leg and their playoff chances got even worse when Jake Browning was forced into action in the loss last night.
The 26-year-old finishes his 2023 season with 2,309 passing yards, 15 touchdowns, and 6 interceptions.
This news just sucks. I’ve had my fair share of takes about the product on the field this football season. Now, it’s set to get even worse.
We already have dealt with watching guys like Clayton Tune, Tommy Devito, and Bryce Young on our television sets all year. Now we get to watch Jake Browning, Dorian Thompson-Robinson, and Kenny Pickett all battle it out for second place in the AFC North.
Every team should just take knees for the rest of the season so we get the Super Bowl rematch we all want and the other teams stay healthy for next year.
This news marks the second time this week an AFC North quarterback has gone down for the season, all but sureing up the division for Lamar Jackson and the Ravens.
Baltimore should coast their way to the postseason, although a first-round bye is now more unrealistic as the Chiefs still have the Bengals to play on their schedule.
Burrow should be ready to go for next season, but this news spells the end of a disappointing year for Cincinnati, and continues a brutal year for the NFL.
