Week 13 of the NFL season concludes on Monday night with what was supposed to be an incredible game but is now yet another mid-off, as the Jake Browning-led Cincinnati Bengals travel to Jacksonville to take on the AFC South-leading Jaguars.
The fat lady is in the home stretch of her song for the Bengals, as a Joe Burrow-less team simply has little to no shot at the postseason.
The Jags on the other hand are fighting for the No. 1 seed in the suddenly wide-open AFC and have a chance to take control of the conference with a victory tonight.
As will be the case every Monday during the NFL season, the guys from Section 400 are here to give their takes on the game.
Here is what Section 400 writers Brian Hauch and Jack Albanese are thinking heading into this AFC Showdown.

Cincinnati.com The loss of Joe Burrow has pretty much sunk the Bengals season. Do you have any faith in Cincy to make a run towards the postseason?
BH: Negative. This team is my breakfast this morning minus the eggs. Jake Browning looked promising last week, but these dudes were barely in it with Joe Burrow under center. It’s time to prepare for 2024.
JA: The Bengals were struggling to win games even with Joe Burrow. They won’t make the playoffs without him this year. Bengals fans, like many other fans around the league, are already waiting for next year.

Getty Images How much of a shot do the young Jaguars actually have to win the AFC?
BH: I’ve been a Jags hater most of the season mainly because of the person writing below me. That being said, the Kansas City Chiefs are a dumpster fire and I don’t know how much I trust Lamar Jackson and the Ravens in the playoffs. I’m liking Doug Perderson’s squad more and more as the year goes on.
JA: The AFC is wide open. The jags have as good of a chance as anyone to take home the AFC Championship.

Syndication: Florida Times-Union Earlier in the year I asked where you ranked Justin Herbert among quarterbacks in the NFL. I’ll ask you the same question but rank Mr. Trevor Lawrence, please.
BH: I have “T Law” in the same tier as Justin Herbert, directly behind him in fact. Lawrence has not been close to showing up he deserves to be talked about in elite company, but he’s much better than the bad half of signal-callers in the league.
JA:
Trevor Lawrence is a top 5 quarterback in any given week. Consistency has always been a big issue for Trevor, and that’s continued this year. There have been a few weeks this season where he looks like the best quarterback in the league while other weeks I’m begging for Doug to just run the ball. With bad quarterback play overall this season, Trevor should be top 7 on everyone’s list right now.

AP Photo You know the drill by now. I need your best bet.
BH: Jake Browning is going to have a night against an overrated Jaguars defense. Give me his over 231 passing/rushing combined yards.
JA: I’m keeping it simple tonight. The Jaguars cover the -9.

USATS How does this one end tonight?
BH: As much as I love Jake Browning in this spot, the Jaguars hold on in a surprisingly good game. Jacksonville moves to 9-3, 26-21.
JA: Jaguars by a pair of touchdowns, 27-13
