The Biggest Week of College Football so far, Best Bets and Analysis

#4 LSU @ #12 Ole Miss

If Ole Miss wants to win this game, the Rebels should start Trinidad Chambliss who has looked like on of if not the most explosive Quarterback in all of College football. After just two games he has already entered the Heisman Trophy talk.

Most importantly he has not turned the ball over, and has looked electric in the running game. We have already seen what LSU secondary has done to the likes of DJ Lagway and Cade Klubnik.  But for LSU once again they have not been able to run the ball and have leaned on the pass game, similar to last season.

The way to attack this Ole Miss Defense is on the ground, but their edge rushers have been dominant when the QB drops back to pass. This Ole Miss offense is by far the most explosive offense that this LSU defense has faced all year, and I think these performances against Clemson, and Florida have just inflated LSU’s stock, because even in these games they didn’t look good.

Best Bets: Ole Miss -1.5 (-110), O 55.5 (-105)

#17 Alabama @ #4 Georgia

For Alabama this game is must win, if the Crimson Tode lose this game they will be 2-2, and there will be no more room for error if they want to make the college football playoff. The Alabama program has owned Georgia in the last 10 games (Alabama is 9-1 against the Bulldogs).

Against Florida State this Alabama team looked flat and lost, but the last two games although against lesser opponents the effort has been there, but what happens when this team gets hit in the mouth on the road. We will find out on Saturday, the key matchup for Alabama is their wide receiver core, against Georgia’s secondary which got absolutely torched against Tennessee.

The other key will be to give Ty Simpson time, over the last two games Ty Simpson is 41-46 insanely efficient. Even on that first drive against Florida State he looked surgical, but then the offensive  collapsed and it went down hill from there. For Georgia, it’s getting the lead early and forcing Alabama to abandon the run game and make it a obvious passing play every play for the Bama offense.

As well as on offense using the QB run with Gunner Stockton, and attacking the edges of the Bama defense which as been the key to beating destroying Alabama’s defense, like Florida State, like Vanderbilt and Oklahoma last year. I will be boots on the ground in Samford Stadium, and I am expecting similar outcome to the LSU game last year.

Best Bet: Alabama ML (+126), O 52.5 (-110) on FanDuel

#6 Oregon @ #3 Penn State

After years of suffering through Big Noon Kickoff we finally have a top 10 whiteout game in Happy Valley. Neither of these teams have played any games of value, Penn State brings a lot more of a veteran presence to this game.  This will be Oregon’s QB, Dante Moore’s first road start, Northwestern doesn’t count cause they play in a women’s soccer stadium, this will be a completely different animal.

There are two ways this game will go, the Ducks are going to be able to handle the noise and the atmosphere, or they will crumble under the pressure. Penn State is going to try and control the ball using their running game to keep the ball for as long as possible and rely on their defense to get turnovers and create short fields.

Best Bet: Penn State -3.5 (-112) on FanDuel

BONUS BETS

Auburn @ Texas A&M – Texas A&M -6.5 (105)

TCU @ Arizona State – Arizona State -2.5 (-125)

Notre Dame @ Arkansas – Arkansas +4.5 (-112)

Utah State @ Vanderbilt – Vanderbilt -22.5 (-110)
