The curse of the consensus No. 1 overall pick in fantasy football continues.
Vikings star, and arguably the best wide receiver in the league, Justin Jefferson, has been placed on IR after suffering a hamstring injury in the Vikings’ week 5 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Vikings’ WR Justin Jefferson now is expected to miss these four games:

🏈49ers
🏈at Green Bay
🏈at Atlanta
He then will be re-evaluated to see whether he would have to miss more time.— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) October 10, 2023
“J-Jettas” had been on pace for another monster season, as the wide-out totaled a league-leading 543 receiving yards through the first four games. On pace to smash a 2,000 yard receiving season, Jefferson is now set to miss the next four games, and possibly more.
The Vikings have a very talented group of pass catchers to help soften the blow, but at 1-4, this is not the news Minnesota needed.
While Jefferson is sidelined, tight end T.J. Hockenson and wide receivers K.J Osborn and Jordan Addison should see an uptick in targets.
We may also see head coach Kevin O’Connell lean more heavily on the run game with Alexander Mattison and newly acquired back Cam Akers.
