Queue the Christmas music! We’ve made it to the most jolly time of the year, and with it, one of the best months of the sports calendar.
College Football Bowl season, the NFL playoff race, ramped-up college basketball, and the NBA In-Season Tournament knockout stages are going to provide presents all throughout Santa’s month. Before we get to that, we need to talk about last night.
Every single weekday, the guys from Section 400 will be providing a rundown of everything that happened in sports the night before.
Let’s get into it.
Dancin’ in Dallas

The world was FINALLY treated to a great Thursday Night Football game last night. It may have been between two fraudulent teams, but it was still entertaining nonetheless.
Wide receiver DK Metcalf was the most impressive player on the field Thursday Night, collecting 3 touchdowns in the loss.
Unfortunately for the Seahawks, and most of America, the Cowboys pulled out a win and moved to 9-3 on the season, all but sureing up the 5-seed in the NFC.
I refuse to write about the Cowboys because they are literally the same exact team we’ve seen the last two years. Dallas is plenty talented, but Dak Prescott hasn’t performed in the playoffs and the defense has slowly started to show signs of cracks.

Scoring Buckets in South Beach

The Indiana Pacers are the funniest team in the NBA. These guys play less defense than a group of spring breakers at the clubs in Miami while chucking up more shots than a group of dudes going to hit on said group of spring breakers.
Indiana shot 51% from the field on Thursday night but lose by 10 points because they gave up 142 points to a heat team without star center Bam Adebayo for the entirety of the second half.
Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton was great again, dropping in 44 points to go along with 10 assists, but Jimmy Butler and Jamie Jaquez were too good on the other side.
Indiana may be in the knockout stage of the In-Season Tournament, but their inability to defend at all hurts their chances at going after an actual championship.
As for the Heat, Pat Riley has seemingly found another diamond in the rough, or mullet, with Jamie Jaquez. The UCLA product gives Miami a slashing-scorer they desperately need, creating a real chance for the defending Eastern Conference Champions to make a run once again.
Baby Thunder keep rollin’

The Oklahoma City Thunder continue to win games amid the Josh Giddey drama. The best part, at least for us and our OKC future, is that they are doing it without major contributions from the alleged Australian pedophile.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has become one of the best players in the Assosiation, while Chet Holgrem could very well beat out Victor Wembanyama for Rookie of the Year.
This team is for real, and they already look like a lock for the postseason. We can only hope they aren’t the 2023 version of the Sacramento Kings.
