What happened last night; December 13

Draymond Green needs to eat a Snickers.

Every single weekday, the guys from Section 400 will be providing a rundown of everything that happened in sports the night before.

Let’s get into it.

Kicking and Screaming

It wasn’t even three weeks ago that Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green was suspended by the NBA for putting Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert in a chokehold just 45 seconds into a basketball game.

Green must’ve heard the NBA needed some extra funds this holiday season after handing out checks to the Lakers, as the erratically emotional 4-time champion is certain to get suspended again.

Golden State’s defensive leader transported himself into a martial arts movie in the third quarter last night, roundhouse slapping Suns center Jusuf Nurkic across the face.

Draymond was subsequently assessed a Flagrant 2 foul and ejected from the game. The Suns were awarded two free throws and the ball, going on to win the game by 3.

Warriors’ rookie forward Trayce Jackson-Davis’ reaction to the slap sums up this story perfectly.

Connor squared

USATS

Edmonton Oilers phenom Connor McDavid has been the best player in the NHL for most of his young career. Blackhawks rookie Connor Bedard is trying to change that.

Bedard’s Blackhawks are not very talented and sit at the bottom of the Eastern Conference but that is no fault of the rookie.

The first-overall pick scored another goal on Tuesday night, impressively skating by Oilers’ defenders and finding the back of the net for Chicago’s lone score.

Luka Magic.

USATS

Luka Doncic is making his case for the best player in the NBA.

The Mavericks guard went crazy again Tuesday Night, collecting 33 points and 17 assists while leading his team to a victory over the In-Season Tournament Champion Los Angeles Lakers.

In reality the game was a “hangover” spot for the Lakers, but a win is a win, and head coach Jason Kidd has his team playing some of the best basketball in the Association.
