What to watch for tonight; December 1

I want to start this off by saying if you choose to snuggle up and watch a Christmas movie with some milk and cookies tonight I don’t blame you.

With that, I’m still going to tell you what sports you should be watching tonight.

Every single weekday, the guys at Section 400 will take you through the upcoming night’s slate of games, no matter how incredible, or how disgusting, it looks.

Today’s slate is okay, with the PAC 12 Championship and some decent college basketball to round it out.

Let’s dive right in.

(NCAAF) PAC 12 Championship; Oregon vs. Washington

It’s been a while since a college football game has found its way into this article, but for some reason the PAC 12 plays its final championship game on a weeknight so here we go.

If you’ve been following Section 400 at all, you know how high we’ve been on the Washington Huskies this year. The boys put in a future a few months ago for Washington to be the final team standing, and so far they’ve treated us well.

Micheal Penix Jr. has his hands full tonight against Bo Nix and Oregon though. The Ducks come into Vegas as 10-point favorites, which seems extremely disrespectful, but is also rattling.

I expect this one to come down to whoever has the ball last in a game that simply won’t be decided by double digits.

The best of the rest.

Hearst Conn Media
  • (NCAAB) Uconn vs. Kansas
  • (NCAAF) New Mexico State vs. Liberty

The college basketball season continues to give us the juciest of matchups (take notes NFL) tonight when the Uconn Huskies travel to Lawrence Kansas to take on the suddenly human Jayhawks.

Both of these teams could very well find themselves on the No. 1 line come March, and this game should teach us which of them has the edge early on.

I’ve written about Kansas too much already, but I will say look out for Tristen Newton of the Huskies. The guard had a phemonenal NCAA Tournament last season and is off to a hot start this year, averaging 16/8/7 so far this season.

We have another conference championship game taking place on Friday, as Diego Pavia and the New Mexico State Aggies will attempt to upset undefeated Liberty.

Liberty is not only going to win this game, but they are going to upset a Power 5 school in a bowl game later this month.

Quarterback Kaidon Salter would be a Heisman Trophy candidate if he played in a bigger conference and running back Quinton Cooley has a chance to be a Day 2 pick in the NFL draft.

Liberty’s deserves every part of their No. 23 ranking.

The rest.

SE Louisiana Athletics

(NBA/NCAAB) Rest of slate

If you aren’t interested in the above games… just go ahead and watch a Christmas movie. I will tell you that I absolutely love SE Louisiana (+16.5) to give LSU all it can handle tonight in Baton Rouge.

SE Louisiana may sound like a disgusting program you want no part of, the the Lions have already played three likely NCAA Tournament teams this season in Auburn, Santa Clara, and BYU.

They got dismantled by BYU, but played Auburn fairly well before going cold towards the end of the game and nearly beat a very good Santa Clara team. LSU is worse than both Auburn and Santa Clara, telling me the Lions cover this line easily.

Junior guard Roger McFarlane is the key tonight for South East.
