Did you guys know that an “Elf” sequel supposedly started production before its eventual cancellation?
I heard that news about a month ago and still am not sure how I feel about it. On one hand “Elf” has become a Christmas movie classic and there is no reason to believe a sequel would not have been just as funny.
On the other hand, how the hell do you make a follow-up movie about an adult elf whose sole purpose in life was to find his human parents?
Anyway, we’re here to talk about sports, not Will Farrell.
Every single weekday, the guys at Section 400 will take you through the upcoming night’s slate of games, no matter how incredible, or how disgusting, it looks.
Today’s slate is fine, with some NBA In-season Tournament knockout stage action and a gross Monday Night Football game.
Let’s dive right in.
The best.
- (NBA) Celtics vs. Pacers
- (NBA) Pelicans vs. Kings
A pair of NBA “win or go home” games take up the “best” category on tonight’s slate. First, Tyrese Haliburton and the Indiana Pacers take on the Boston Celtics in an eastern conference battle.
Haliburton is questionable tonight for the 1-seeded Pacers with a respiratory infection, and even if he plays he’ll be less than 100%.
It’s a tough break for a Pacers team that has been mediocre at best this season outside of the In-Season Tournament. Unless Buddy Hield, Benedict Mathurin, and the rest of the Pacers supporting cast can play their A+ games, this is looking like a Boston dub.
In the nightcap, the Pelicans take on the Kings in a game that should have more scoring than the soundtrack of Tarzan.
This game could go either way but Sacramento may have the upper hand under the beam.
The best of the rest.

(NFL) Bengals vs. Jaguars
Tonight’s Monday Night Football game may be another prime time snoozer.
I have a little bit of optimism that Jake Browning could surprise some people, but Jaguars fan Jack believes this one isn’t goign to be close.

The rest.

- (NHL) Penguins vs. Flyers
- (NCAAB) Brutal Slate
I’ve realized every time I bring up a hockey game I say it’s on ESPN+ and have a mini-aneurysm. I’d like to retract my disgust from the past, as I know realize these games are on regional networks with an option to watch on ESPN+. That is pretty cool, and something baseball (figure it out Rob) should adopt fully.
The actual game I am outlining tonight is the Pennsylvania battle between the disappointingly mediocre Penguins and the surprisingly competent and mediocre Flyers.
That’s about all your getting from me about these two teams. If anyone of you reading this love hockey and want to write/talk about it, DM me on Twitter I may have a spot at this company for you.
The college basketball slate tonight is grosser than my 9th grade skin when I was on accutane. Since mama didn’t raise no bi*** I’ll give you an official play, but tail with caution.
I like Iowa’s team total over 72.5 the most out of anything tonight.
