What to watch for tonight; January 29

How in the world is it nearly February? It seems like yesterday we were all giddy and excited to announce our “12 Days of Bowlmas” Christmas Special and now 2024 is already over 8% done with.

It’s about time to start Valentine’s Day shopping for my fiancé while gearing up for the inevitable disappointment of baseball season.

Until then, we have two more weeks of football season and non-sense “dog day” NBA and NHL. Of course, college basketball is a major part of our brand and we’re heavily covering everything over on the amateur hardwood, (pause) but that sport is even on my shit list right now after Auburn turned into a bunch of ducks this week.

We did give out Kansas (+3000) as our official squad ride future bet for college basketball on our live stream yesterday. I would advise joining us on the journey considering we were a game away from cashing our Washington future in college football and gave you the Thunder with amazing odds before the NBA season started.

Speaking of those Thunder….

Let’s go through every game the guys from Section 400 have circled tonight.

The best.

USATS

(NBA) Nuggets vs. Thunder

I know I just said the NBA season is in the dog days and not worth watching BUT I promise you’ll want to tune in for this clash of Western Conference teams tonight.

Unfortunately the only way to do that will be through NBA League Pass because the game is on the bankrupt Bally Sports family of networks.

Oklahoma City is not only a half game ahead of the Nuggets for the top seed in the West, but 2-1 against Denver this season.

Both wins have surprisingly come in Denver, while the Nuggets won the series opener in OKC back in October.

The best of the rest.

USATS
  • (NCAAM) Duke vs. Virginia Tech
  • (NCAAM) Houston vs. Texas

The best college basketball games of the night come in an ESPN doubleheader, with Duke traveling to Blacksburg, VA to start the night off.

The Blue Devils are favored by just 3 points in the contest despite holding the No. 7 ranking in the AP Poll. They struggled to beat a talented Clemson team at home on Saturday, but I love them to bounce back tonight on the road.

Duke is just so much more talented than Virginia Tech. The home court advantage will be a factor, but the 3-point line is disrespectful. Confidently take Kyle Filipowski and company to win this one by multiple possessions.

The soft, mental midget-like, clowns over in Austin host the fourth-ranked Houston Cougars in the nightcap. Texas is cooked until they fire their head coach and embrace the trash talk.

This program won’t last in the SEC for a second at this rate.

The rest.

We spent all day yesterday reacting to the AFC/NFC Championship action. Do yourself a favor and get the YouTube going in the background tonight while you make dinner, watch basketball, or hit the gym.
