We’ve made it another week! It’s nearly time for (basically) playoff football but we have one more night of sports to get through before Steelers vs. Ravens kicks off tomorrow at 4:30 Eastern.
I’d also like to remind everybody that SEC basketball begins conference play tomorrow and my Auburn Tigers are sitting at (+400) to win the conference.
Free money.
Back to tonight, this column is going to be a little more abbrieviated than most. We have some big plans coming up with a podcast dropping tomorrow, a live show on Monday (Go Huskies) and content all weekend so I’ve got a lot to do.
I’m also just tired to be frank.
Anyway, every single weekday the guys from Section 400 give you a rundown of the games they’ll have their eyes on that night.
Tonight’s slate is kind of a heater, with a full schedule of NBA and some solid college basketball matchups.
Let’s get into it.
The best.

- (NCAAB) Illinois vs. Purdue
- (NCAAB) UCONN vs Butler
Before I get into these games. Does anyone know the proper way to type out “UCONN”? I feel like I’ve tried UCONN, UConn, and Uconn during my article run on Section 400 and none has felt right.
UCONN feels the best out of the three (and my spellcheck isn’t yelling at me) so I guess we’ll go with that for the rest of the season.
Anyway, as for the game between UCONN and Butler, the Huskies come in as 5.5-point road favorites over the 10-4 Bulldogs.
We all know about how much I love Tristen Newton (who I called the Lebron James of college basketball just a month ago), Cam Spencer, and the UCONN Huskies.
I wish I could say the same about the Butler Bulldogs. These dudes had an outstanding start to the season and nearly took down FAU early on, but have lost their first two games in Big East play.
The Bulldogs can score behind guards Pierre Brooks and Jahmyl Telfort, but they couldn’t defend a 500-year-old tortise walking in quicksand.
In the Big 10, Terrance Shannon Jr. will not be traveling with Illinois to take on Purdue tonight. If you don’t know why, I encourage you to look it up yourself. I
don’t know enough about the situation/ don’t feel the need to comment on serious matters like the one Shannon Jr. is dealing with because, well, I just made an analogy about a tortoise in quick sand.
Illinois best player being out hurts them on the court though, and Purdue should handle the Fighting Illini pretty easily. The Boilermakers are going to be made fun of all year for Zach Edey’s corniness and their March failures, but they are still a very good basketball team.
The best of the rest.

(NBA) Hawks vs. Pacers
I realized I said this column was going to be abbriviated yet I’m already at the 500 word count so I’ll keep this one short.
We’re at the point in the NBA season where teams can either coast off their great starts, know they suck (Pistons, *cough* *cough*), or just don’t feel like trying for a few weeks.
Much of the games aren’t worth tuninng into because of that, but the Hawks vs. the Pacers has an over/under of 263 tonight. Let’s see how many fantasy points Tyrese Haliburton can get me.
The rest.

(NCAAB/NBA)
I alluded to it earlier, but I love the over in the UCONN vs. Butler game. Considering the game starts at 6:30 and it is 6:12 I’ll get this published ASAP.
