Tuesday’s not gone with the wind just yet. We still have a full night of sports ahead of us, and it’s actually a fairly decent one at that.
Every single day, the guys at Section 400 will take you through the upcoming night’s slate of games, no matter how incredible, or how disgusting, it looks.
Today’s slate is solid, with the college basketball Champions Classic headlining things and a full night of NBA and NHL to compliment it.
Here at the games, you should be watching tonight.
The best

- (NCAAB) Duke vs. Michigan State
- (NCAAB) Kansas vs. Kentucky
One of the biggest pre-March nights in the college basketball world kicks off at 6 PM eastern on Tuesday, when Duke takes on Michigan state to begin the champions classic.
We took the time to write full previews for each of these games today, and you can read the Blue Devils vs. Spartans guide here.
This game features two teams still trying to figure out who they are in 2023. Michigan State infamously lost its home opener to the James Madison Dukes in a game I said would be close (not to brag), while Duke lost at home to a very good Arizona team.
Expect MSU guard Tyson Walker and Duke guard Tyrese Proctor to go back-and-forth scoring in what should be a fun game.
The night-cap of ESPN’s double header is just as good. Hunter Dickinson and the Kansas Jayhawks have clearly looked like the best team in college basketball early on.
John Calipari’s Kentucky Wildcats have the talent to eventually take over that mantle, but are also young enough to explode in March once again.
While the Wildcats have the offensive firepower to keep up in Kansas, the lack of size, depth, and experience gives the edge to the nation’s number-one team in this one.
The best of the rest.

- (NBA) Spurs vs. Thunder
- (NHL) Golden Knights vs. Capitals
If you aren’t already aware, the Oklahoma City Thunder are the official “Views from 400” future this NBA season. So far they’ve looked great on their way to a 6-4 record in a competitive western conference.
Tonight they’ll play another young team with high hopes for the future; The San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs are of course led by Victor Wembanyama, who is going to be in a tight race with the Thunder’s Chet Holmgren for Rookie of the Year all season long.
These teams are on similar trajectories, although the Thunder are a year or two ahead. This game should be entertaining as the first half on TNT’s doubleheader.
The Vegas Golden Knights travel to the D.C to take on the Washington Capitals tonight in what should be the best game on the NHL slate. This one is of course a rematch of the 2019 Stanley Cup Finals. While the Caps bested Vegas in that series, it is Vegas who has enjoyed sustained success since.
The rest.

(NCAAB/NBA/NHL) rest of slate
If none of the above games interest you, I advise you to turn the TV dial to Fox Sports 1 at 8 PM Eastern for Marquette (+2) vs. Illinois.
The Golden Eagles are coming off a disappointing NCAA tournament performance last year but still boast one of the best rosters in the nation. Star guard Tyler Kolek is a game-time decision for this one, but if he plays Marquette should be able to get by the Fighting Illini on the road.
Even if they do manage to get the win, this one is going to be close throughout.
