What to watch for tonight; November 27

Monday, Monday, Monday.

After a nice Thanksgiving holiday break, it’s time to get back into the swing of things here at Section 400.

Every single weekday, the guys at Section 400 will take you through the upcoming night’s slate of games, no matter how incredible, or how disgusting, it looks.

Today’s slate is decent, with a mediocre Monday Night Football game and some NBA and college basketball action.

Let’s dive right in.

The best.

(NFL) Bears vs. Vikings

The 3-8 Chicago Bears travel to Minnesota to take on the surprisingly 6-5 Vikings on Monday Night Football tonight. Normally a game like this wouldn’t find it’s way into the “best” column, but I guess this is what we deserve after a busy weekend of sports.

Josh Dobbs has become the darling of the NFL world this year, and he has a chance to get the Vikings to within a game of the Lions for the division lead with a win.

On the other side, Justin Fields is playing for the right to stay Chicago’s franchise quarterback. Despite the mediocre-looking matchup, I expect this one to be a lot of fun.

The best of the rest

  • (NBA) Lakers vs. 76ers
  • (NBA) Nuggets vs. Clippers

The second best game of the night comes from Philadelphia, when the Lebron James-led 10-7 Lakers take on the Joel Embiiid-led 11-5 76ers.

Philadelphia has played well recently despite the on-going saga of Kelly Oubre and the invisible boat mobile. Meanwhile, the Lakers have been scorching hot and clinched a spot in the knockout round of the In-Season Tournament on Friday.

We may see a little less intensity after both of these teams pumped up the gas this weekend, but this 7 PM NBA TV game is still worth a watch.

The second half of NBA TV’s double header isn’t quite as good, but it should still be interesting. The 11-6 Nuggets travel to Los Angeles to take on the 7-8 Clippers in a game where they may not have Nikola Jokic.

Los Angeles is fully healthy and has a chance to get back to .500 for the first time since trading for James Harden.

The rest.

USATS

(NCAAB) Small slate of games

College Basketball pretty much has a night off tonight after a slew of tournaments wrapped up over the weekend. The most fun watch may be Oakland vs. Xavier, as both of those teams love to run and we should see a lot of points.

In terms of a game worth betting on, I love Western Illinois (+27.5) vs Wisconsin in Madison. Wisconsin struggles scoring the basketball and the Badgers haven’t played since before the Thanksgiving break.

These kids are still coming down from their stomachs full of turkey and travel to see family. Western Illinois may not be that good, but they did play a ranked Illinois team on Black Friday, telling me they should have a bit more juice at least to begin this one.

The first half spread is also worth a look.
