I’m a little late getting to this article today so I apologize to the few people that look forward to this.
*I can’t wait to put a thousand after that “few”. This is just the beginning*
Every single weekday, the guys at Section 400 will take you through the upcoming night’s slate of games, no matter how incredible, or how disgusting, it looks.
Today’s slate is blah, with some great college basketball action but nothing much beyond that.
Let’s dive right in.
The best.

- (NCAAB) Tennessee vs. North Carolina
- (NCAAB) Arkansas vs. Duke
The ACC/SEC Challenge wraps up today with two heavyweight matches on ESPN.
First, the 4-2 Tennessee Volunteers (+1.5) travel to Chapel Hill to take on the 5-1 UNC Tar Heels. The Vols come in losers of two straight after a more disappointing Hawaiian stay than a season one White Lotus character at the Maui Invitational. Meanwhile, UNC’s only loss was suffered in overtime to a good Villanova team.
Even with Tennessee sputtering and UNC flying high, the wrong team is favored in this one. To find out why, read my complete preview of the game here.
The second half of the double header features a much for high scoring game between the 4-3 (ew) Arkansas Razorbacks and the 5-1 Duke Blue Devils.
Duke has looked the part as one of the best teams in college basketball, and I have continously wrote about how I believe they have the most talent. The Blue Devils have the shooting, size, and perimeter defense to make a run in March.
On the other side, Arkansas is arguably just as talented. The Razorbacks boast lethal backcourt featuring Temple transfer Khalif Battle and Houston transfer Tramon Mark, but have not gotten much production from the front court so far this season.
Eric Musselman should be able to figure it out, but there is a decent chance his team falls to .500 tonight.
The best of the rest.

- (NBA) 76ers vs Pelicans
- (NBA) Clippers vs. Kings
The NBA slate is decent tonight but (I can’t believe I’m saying this) the games aren’t that interesting considering we just had a great night of In-Season Tournament action.
Brandon Ingram’s eternally high-scoring, and high-self, leads the Pelicans against Joel Embiid’s 76ers tonight at the Smoothie King Center in a game with more star power than fruit in a Smoothie King smoothie.
The issue is this game is at 8 o’clock eastern.
The nightcap on NBA TV is also somewhat interesting, with the Los Angeles Clippers taking on the Sacramento Kings in an interstate battle. The issue with this one is the Kings are on the second half of a back-to-back after an emotional group-clinching win over the Warriors.
View at your own risk.
The rest.

- (NCAAB) rest of slate
- (NHL) Red Wings vs. Rangers
The rest of the college basketball slate is gross, but I’ll have my eyes on Auburn vs. Virginia Tech because “WAR DAMN EAGLE”. You should also check in on this game to see freshman guard Aden Holloway shoot some threes. The 18-year-old has been lethal to start the season, shooting 43% from 3-point range to begin his career.
5-1 Colorado and 6-0 Colorado State should be a fun rivalry game as well. Knowing Colorado State’s fraud status makes me shy away from this one though.
Finally, the Red Wings take on the Rangers in the best NHL game of the day. Shout out Blake Hildebrandt.
