It’s Friday, Friday, gotta get down on Friday.
Every single day, Section 400 will take you through the upcoming night’s slate of games, no matter how incredible, or how disgusting, it looks.
Today’s slate is fine, but I wouldn’t blame you for going out and having a few drinks. The good news is if you want to do that, you can come right back here for tomorrow’s edition of “What happened last night”
Anyway, let’s get after it.
The best.

- (NBA) Mavericks vs. Nuggets
- (NBA) Knicks vs. Bucks
NBA mid-season tournament play begins tonight with 7 games in action across the Association. ESPN will televise two of the games as part of their Friday doubleheader.
First, the New York Knicks, who I am sick of watching 5 games into the season, visit Damian Lillard and the Milwaukee Bucks for the right to be the leader of “East Group B”. The Bucks are favored by 5.5 points in this one and presumably will win the group, but anything can happen in #novemberneurosis. (I don’t think that hashtag will catch on.
The nightcap of the doubleheader is going to be a banger as the 4-0 Dallas Mavericks visit the 4-1 Denver Nuggets. Kyrie Irving comes into this game questionable, and his status should give us the first glimpse into how stars will treat these games.

The best of the rest.

- (NBA) Rest of in-season tournament play
- (NHL) Flyers vs. Sabers
We did a bit of an in-season tournament preview/confused rant on yesterday’s podcast, but came away agreeing the Miami Heat were a team that would mess around and try to win this thing.
@views.from.400 The #nba mid season tournament starts tomorrow. Which begs the question… why? New #podcast out now on Youtube! Link in bio!
I like that take even more now that the Heat have dropped to 1-4 on the season. They host the Wizards tonight in “East Group B” play, and I can tell you right now Udonis Haslem will be giving out ALL the high fives.
The only other game worth a damn is in Oklahoma City, where the 3-2 Thunder host the 4-1 Warriors. This will be a nice test for Shai and the guys to show us they have what it takes to cash our “Section 400 Championship Future”.
In the NHL, The Flyers travel to Buffalo to take on the Sabres. This is a standalone game on NHL Network. Quite the night for hockey.
The rest.

- (NCAAF) Boston College vs. Syracuse
The Syracuse Orange started the season 4-0 and looked liked a lock to play in a bowl game. They are now 4-4.
Boston College has not been to a bowl since 2019. They are currently 5-3, leaving them one win away from returning to the postseason.
This game means a whole lot to both of these teams. While the product won’t be great football, the emotion of this game might carry it enough to warrant watching. Of course, you can also come back tomorrow morning for a recap of what happened.
