What to watch for tonight; October 30

I hope everybody had an amazing halloweekend as we kick off the holiday season. I sure as hell know I didn’t after a miserable Sunday ruined a great Saturday.

Because of that, I would like to announce I will be boycotting the New York Football Giants franchise until they look like a properly run football team. That effort on Sunday looked worse than the effort I gave on my hungover ACT after I already got back my acceptance letter from Auburn.

It is nearly impossible to throw for SEVEN total yards in today’s NFL. The Giants just did it in an OVERTIME game.

I never thought I’d be in a position where I’m missing watching Daniel Jones play football, but here we are.

Every single day, Section 400 will take you through the upcoming night’s slate of games, no matter how incredible, or how disgusting, it looks.

Today’s slate is LOADED (thank goodness), with a Monday Night Football game featuring the Raiders again for some reason, a full night of NBA action, World Series game 3, and some hockey.

Let’s get right into it.

The best.

(MLB) World Series Game 3 (Series tied 1-1)

(NBA) Miami Heat vs Milwaukee Bucks

The World Series shifts to Arizona tonight after the Diamondbacks and Rangers split the first two games in Texas. Arizona sends 25-year-old rookie Brandon Pfaadt to the mound to face off against 39-year-old veteran Max Scherzer.

Scherzer is obviously the more accomplished pitcher, in the regular and postseason, but it can be argued that the Diamondbacks have the advantage tonight with Pfaadt and his 2.70 postseason ERA on the bump.

That 2.70 ERA is over 3 full runs lower than his regular season ERA of 5.72.

If that isn’t a microcosm for what these playoffs have been I don’t know what is.

Over in the association, the Milwaukee Bucks get a chance to get a tiny bit of revenge on the team that knocked them out of the playoffs last year.

Kris Middleton needs some rest after playing 2 games in 4 days (this league), but these rivals should be at full strength otherwise.

The best of the rest.

USATS

(NFL) Raiders vs. Lions

(NHL) Panthers vs. Bruins

This is the closest I’ve come to putting a standalone football game in the “rest” category. For all intensive purposes this game should be a blowout. The Raiders stink, and the Lions are a good team that is coming off a bad loss.

Some of the Raiders may want to show out in this one with the trade deadline looming, but even with Halloween around the corner they won’t have enough tricks up their sleeve to compete. For more on this game, including our favorite bet of the night and takes on the Raiders and Lions, check out our roundtable here!

Much like the game between the Heat and Bucks, the Panthers and Bruins play each other in a rematch of a first round playoff series from a year ago. The Bruins are off to another torrid start (7-0-1) after setting the points record last year while the Panthers head into this one 4-3.

The rest.

(NBA) rest of slate

(NHL) rest of slate

If none of the above games float your boat, you’ll have a full slate of basketball and hockey to scroll through. The other game worth mentioning tonight is a western conference matchup between the Warriors and Pelicans on NBA TV.

The Pelicans have looked good in their 2 games so far, showing the potential this team has with a healthy Zion Williamson. The Warriors are still figuring out how Chris Paul fits into their scheme, but I’m sure Steve Kerr and Co. will figure it out soon enough.

This one could be a fun watch.
