No. 1 Auburn travels to Rupp Arena to take on No. 17 Kentucky
The Auburn Tiggers travel to Lexington on Satruday to try and continue their success in SEC play. With a win, Auburn pretty much raps up the SEC regular-season championship.
Coming off a dominant win against Ole Miss at home, the Tigers look to dominate a banged up Kentucky team. Although guard Lamont Butler and forward Jaxson Robinson returned for the Wildcats in their win against Oklahoma on Wednesday, center Amari Williams did leave that game in the first half.
Williams did finish the game, but it seems he will be questionable on Saturday against Auburn. Kentucky will need all the help they can get against this Auburn team, after struggling in the Florida loss and the Vanderbilt win the Tigers have been dominant, beating Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia and Ole Miss.
Auburn finishes off the regular season playing three ranked teams including Kentucky. For the Tigers the key is going to be 3-point shooting. Kentucky has a very high powered offense, yet their defense has not been good for the majority of the season. If Auburn is able to take advantage of the opportunities they are given by the weak Kentucky defense, the Tigers should have no problem taking this game and locking up the SEC regular season championship.
For the Wildcats, star guard Otega Oweh has been lights out on offense for the majority of the season, and has picked up the slack when Lamont Butler has been injured this season.
He is the key for the Wildcats if they hope to pull of this upset at home. A sneaky player for the Wildcats is senior guard Koby Brea, who is lethal from 3-point range. If he gets in a rhythm, he can be a very dangerous player for the Wildcats. At home this season he is averaging 12.6 points, while shooting 52.5% from beyond the arc, and he could have a big impact on this game if the Kentucky defense can step up to set up some fast break 3-pointers.

No. 6 Alabama takes on No. 5 Tennessee on Rocky Top
The Crimson Tide take on the Tennessee Volunteers in the biggest matchup of the weekend. The only top 10 matchup this weekend sees the Crimson Tide coming into this game on a two-game win streak after losing to Auburn and Missouri back to back.
The Tide dominated Kentucky and Mississippi State at home, with Mark Sears finally getting hot for Alabama with back-to-back 30-point games against Missouri and Kentucky, and following it up with a solid 21-point performance against Mississippi State.
Chris Youngblood owned Mississippi State this season, having another huge game shooting 7/11 from 3-point range and dropping 27 points against the Bulldogs. Mark Sears always seems to show up in these big games for the Tide, but in the Auburn and Missouri games, no one else seemed to have showed up with him.
If Alabama is going to win this massive game on the road, Youngblood, Philon, Holloway, or Nelson, has to step up alongside Sears on the road. Tennessee and Alabama play very different styles, Tennessee tries to slow the game and play defense, and the Volunteers are not very good shooting from beyond the arc.
Alabama plays fast, shooting as many 3 pointers as possible, and isn’t very good at defense. For the Vols on offense it comes down to Chaz Lanier and Zakai Zeigler.
If they are able to shoot the 3-ball well, they should be able to stay in this game. When Tennessee lost to Kentucky at home it was because they tried to keep up with the 3-point shooting of Kentucky which they could not, which lead to one of the worst team 3-point shooting performances I have ever seen.
If Tennessee plays their game it’s going to be very easy for Alabama to win this game, but Alabama is coming off arguably their best offensive performance of the season, so if they can remain hot from beyond the arc, it’s going to be very hard for the Vols to keep up.
Best Bet: Alabama ML (+140) and Alabama +3.5 (-108) on FanDuel
No. 12 Texas A&M travels to the Swamp to take on No. 3 Florida
The Gators try to rebound against the Aggies after losing to Georgia on the road. Even though guard Will Richard dropped 30 points in Athens, it wasn’t enough to overcome the Bulldogs.
The Aggies are falling apart, currently on a three-game losing streak after losing to Mississippi State on the road and Tennessee and Vanderbilt at home. Now they have to go into the swamp and try and take down a No. 3 ranked Florida team that has been on fire besides the slip up against Georgia.
If Texas A&M is going to win this game, it’s going be on the shoulders of senior star Wade Talyor IV. He has not been at his best for the majority of this season, especially from beyond the arc, going 0/9 against Tennessee.
The Aggies need a big performance from him if they are going to pull off this upset. Florida has been dominant at home this season and are 13-1 in home games while averaging 83.6 points per game and outscoring opponents by 16.5 points per game in ‘The Swamp’.
Walter Clayton Jr. has been the Gators best player throughout the season, although Will Richard and Alijah Martin have both stepped up in big games for the Gators. Walter Clayton Jr. has been the most consistent player for the Gators this season and I expect him to have a big game this Saturday. The Gators should have a field day against this struggling Aggies team.
