The Red River Rivalry was everything we could have asked for and more.
In a sold-out Cotton Bowl, Dillon Gabriel and the Oklahoma Sooners rallied late to steal one from Texas, 34-30.
The Sooners quarterback was sensational in the win, throwing for 285 yards and rushing for 113 more. Gabriel had two total touchdowns in the game, including the game-winner with just 15 seconds to go.

Sooners Receiver Nic Anderson was on the other end of the pass heard around the the college football world. The freshmen now has 10 catches this season, 5 of which has gone for touchdowns.
On the other side, Quinn Ewers and the Texas offense actually out-gained Oklahoma 527-486, but 2 turnovers and three drives ending in field goals were the Longhorns downfall.
Running back Jonathon Brooks would have been the talk of the town had the Longhorns won this one. The sophomore Bijan Robinson replacement racked up 129 rushing yards and a score, which would have been the highlight of the day if not for, well, Texas being Texas.

Jordan Whittington (10 catches for 115 yards) and Xavier Worthy (8 catches for 108 yards) joined Brooks to create a trio of Texas skill player to have 100 yards from scrimmage.
Oklahoma receiver Jalil Farooq (5 catches for 130 yards) was the only other player to go over the century mark in this one. His first quarter over the shoulder catch was absolutely absurd.

The 34-30 gives Oklahoma the inside track to the Big 12 championship. as they are now 6-0 on the season. They will take a well-deserved bye next week before hosting UCF in week 8.
Texas is also on bye next week and will return in Houston two Saturdays from now.
