I know we said last Monday’s edition of bracketology would be our last, but we couldn’t help but do one more with just a day remaining before Selection Sunday.
Check out who’s on the right side of the bubble and who’s in the driver’s seat ahead of the biggest tournament in sports!
First Four Out: Pitt, Seton Hall, Oregon, Providence
- Pitt needed a victory in the ACC semifinals. The Panthers are cooked.
- Seton Hall’s loss to St. John’s makes it extremely tough for the Pirates to get in. We’ll see if the committee values them over
- Oregon’s PAC 12 Tournament run has the Ducks back in the bubble conversation. They’ll need a victory over Colorado to get in the field.
- Providence is our first team out of the field.
Last Four In: Texas A&M, Indiana State, Virginia, St. John’s
- Texas A&M has played their way into the weekend of the SEC Tournament and should have enough to make the tournament. A win over Florida in the semifinals would move A&M out of the First Four all together, and a SEC Championship could get the Aggies as high as an 8 seed.
- Indiana State lost a heartbreaker to Drake in the MVC Championship. The Sycamores are good enough to earn an at-large bid, but probably need a few teams on the bubble to fumble down the stretch to sneak in
- Virginia is reeling but should be in assuming one of Oregon or NC State loses their conference championships.
- St John’s is our last team in the field. A win by NC State or Oregon on Saturday could leave Rick Pitino’s squad out of March Madness.
