Section 400’s Week 11 Thursday Night Football Roundtable

Week 11 of the 2024 NFL season begins Thursday night with a battle of NFC East heavyweights as the 7-3 Washington Commanders take on the 7-2 Philadelphia Eagles. After a little hiatus, the guys are back again to bring you their weekly Thursday Night Football roundtable.

In this week’s roundtable, Brian, Jack, Matt and Zach talk playoff hopefuls, bald head coaches, and best bets for tonight’s game, before ending with their prediction of which team keeps their season alive heading into the second half stretch. Make sure to check back every Thursday and Monday throughout the season for our takes on each primetime NFL contest!

Matt has repeatedly let us know on the podcast that the Eagles are undefeated in the ‘Baldianni’ era. Will Philadelphia ever lose again?

BH: I don’t think they ever will. The Eagles locker room clearly rid itself of every single issue that caused Philadelphia’s collapse a season ago simply because the head coach shaved his head. Jalen Hurts is going to win the NFL MVP award and the Super Bowl MVP award. Everything I just wrote definitely reflects what I think and has the pure intentions behind it.

JA: Though I expect them to win tonight, they could lose. They could lose next week against the Rams, in Baltimore the week after, or even against the Steelers in Week 15. It’s not an easy schedule for ‘Baldianni’ coming up.

MK: The ‘Baldianni’ era has been fun and gives a good way for the fan base to get behind the head coach again. They’ll lose again, but it won’t be tonight.

ZM: The ‘Baldianni’ era has been great! I love the Birds tonight against Washington, and I think they get the job done there in Los Angeles next week. I have the Eagles losing to the Ravens in a couple of weeks, however.

Jayden Daniels has led the Commanders to a 7-3 record, but Washington has yet to win a game against a team over .500. What is Washington’s ceiling this season?

BH: As much as I would love to see Jayden Daniels hoist the Lombardi Trophy to make my love for him fully justified, it’s not going to happen this year. Washington could win a Wild Card Weekend, excuse me, Super Wild Card Weekend, game against an NFC South team, but I don’t see a path for my favorite quarterback in the NFL to make a run deep into the postseason.

JA: They can win one game in the playoffs this year. Washington won’t make a run at the NFC Championship though.

MK: The ceiling is a playoff loss. I’ll say it comes in the divisional round.

ZM: Daniels and the the Commanders have a very, very, easy schedule the rest of the way. They can make the playoffs and win a game. I don’t see Washington doing much after that though.

Alright Eagles fans. I know you’ve been waiting for me to rip off the bandaid so here it is. Who is winning the NFC East? How many games will they win it by?

BH: As Zach stated in the above prompt, the Commanders have what the youth like to call “a cupcake schedule” over the final month and a half of the season. If Jayden Daniels can conjure up at least a split with the Eagles, Washington will win this division. Unfortunately the Eagles are going to sweep the Commanders, leaving Philadelphia in control of its own destiny, which it takes advantage of, by winning the NFC East by 2 games.

JA: I’m going with the Eagles by a few, two to be exact.

MK: Eagles seal it with 2 games left in regular season!

ZM: Like I said, the Commanders have an easy schedule, BUT, they play the Birds twice. The Eagles will go 13-4, while the Commanders finish 11-6.

Let’s sweep the board tonight boys. Give me your best bet(s) tonight!

BH: Zach Ertz has become somewhat of a weapon in the Washington offense. He will continue doing so against his former team. Zach Ertz OVER 34.5 receiving yards (-120) is my favorite bet. I’ll be sprinkling Ertz to haul in 50+ yards (+195) as well.

JA: After Jalen Hurts’s 4 touchdown day last week against an abysmal Cowboys team, this one in for the running backs. Saquon Barkley is going to be the star of this show. He gets in the endzone (-225), and the Eagles win the game (-230).

MK: I’ll give out four. Jalen Hurts any time touchdown (-150), A.J. Brown OVER 78.5 receiving yards (-120), Jayden Daniels over 200 passing yards (-235), and Zach Ertz 3+ receptions (-320).

ZM: The Eagles cover (-3.5), and for fun, let’s say Jahan Dotson anytime touchdown (+1000) against his old team.

Which of these teams is winning tonight, and will be the score?

BH: The Eagles aren’t ever losing a football game again. Philadelphia moves to 6-0 in the ‘Baldianni’ era with a 27-23 victory.

JA: Eagles win it, 26-20.

MK: Eagles win, 31-22.

ZM: 24-17, Birds.
