The NFL has a serious problem. Injuries are always going to happen, but they’ve been extra prevalent in 2023, adding to the horrendous product this NFL season has been.
If you can’t tell already I did not enjoy watching Jake Browning on my television last night.
Every single weekday, the guys from Section 400 will be providing a rundown of everything that happened in sports the night before.
Let’s get it.
Unanimous

Los Angeles Angels two-way star, and future New York Met, Shohei Ohtani became the first American League player ever to win two unanimous MVP awards. The 29-year-old won the award in back-to-back years, taking the debate from “Is he the best player in baseball?” to “Is he one of the best players of all time?”
Ronald Acuña Jr. took home the award in the senior circuit after a 40-home run, 40-stolen base season. The young outfielder is easily a top 5 player in baseball when he is able to stay healthy, but still has issues in the postseason, especially when facing the division rival Philadelphia Phillies.
I’ll pray neither of those teams see the postseason again for a while. My heart can’t take the continued NL East battles without the Mets involved.
Battle Scars

Shame on me for thinking we would finally get a solid Thursday Night Football game to watch. I don’t know why, I don’t know how, but the NFL is cursed this year.
The league is getting carried by the two teams that were in the Super Bowl last year, a rookie quarterback, and a life-long bald backup (That is not Joshua Dobbs slander just a fact).
Injuries and bad quarterback play have been a major part for the product being subpar. One of those injuries was to quarterback Joe Burrow, who dealt with a calf issue for the first few weeks of the season.
Right when Burrow seemed healthy, he injured his finger last night and was forced to watch his team fall to .500 from the sidelines.
Ravens tight end Mark Andrews was the first major player to get injured in this one, and he will reportadely miss the rest of the season with an ankle injury.
This NFL season is just sad.
November Madness.

Preseason college basketball tournaments have started up across the nation. We actually have a game going right now between North Texas and LSU that had an over/under of a way too low 125.
There are some big championship/semi-final games across the country tonight, but I’ll have my eyes on my Auburn Tigers against the St. Bonaventure Bonnies in the Legends Classic Championship.
St. Johns (+1) vs. Dayton in the Charleston Classic Semi-Final is probably the best game of the day slate. I’m always in to back Rick Pitino in a tournament setting.
