What to watch for tonight; November 16

I have to admit I was sleeping a bit on this article today. As I’m writing this St. Louis currently leads Wyoming in the first round of the Myrtle Beach Invitational. Let’s just pretend I put that tournament in the “best of the rest” category.

Every single weekday, the guys at Section 400 will take you through the upcoming night’s slate of games, no matter how incredible, or how disgusting, it looks.

Thursday brings us a great football game, some solid college basketball, and a few other decent games across the sports landscape.

The best

(NFL) Bengals vs. Ravens

Don’t quote me on this, but I believe this is the first time in the last four weeks the Thursday Night Football game has been alone in the “best” category. This matchup deserves it.

Both the Bengals and Ravens are coming off bad losses last week. Joe Burrow and the Bengals lost in the final seconds at home to C.J Stroud and the suddenly-hot Texans, while Lamar Jackson and the Ravens blew a double digit lead at home to the Cleveland Browns.

Baltimore is a 1 1/2 games ahead of the Bengals in the AFC North, making this game crucial for both teams as we enter the final third of the season.

There are a million things I could say ahead of this one, and I already did. To read our full predictions, best bets, and previews of this game head over to our roundtable here.

The best of the rest.

  • (NBA) Thunder vs. Warriors
  • (NCAAB) Myrtle Beach Invitational/Legends Classic/Charleston Classic

The “Views from 400” squad-ride future team is in action tonight to take on the Draymond Green-less Golden State Warriors after the forward went full-Rambo on Rudy Gobert… a minute and a half into the game. Green was suspended 5 games by the NBA after putting the Timberwolves big man in a literal choke hold, not allowing him to breath. (Figure it out Adam)

The Thunder actually have a better record than Steph Curry and the Warriors but come into this game as 3.5-point underdogs. The four-time champion is out for this game, giving our baby Thunder a decent chance to pull of the upset.

Like I said earlier, college basketball preseason tournaments are underway across the nation. While the Myrtle Beach classic is known for fun, high scoring games, I have my eyes on the Houston (-20.5) vs Towson in the Charleston Classic.

Towson had a great season last year, but have struggled mightily this year despite a 2-1 record. The Cougars on the other hand have won each of their games by 30+ points. They are led by Baylor transfer L.J Cryer. This team is just as good on the defensive end as last year’s iteration, and they may be even better on the offensive side.

Houston should win this won handedly.

I’d also like to give a shoutout to my Auburn Tigers as they take on Notre Dame in the Legends Classic tonight. War damn.

The rest.

  • (NHL) Panthers vs. Kings
  • (NBA) Nets vs Heat

These two games are both worth watching if you don’t like the NFL or college basketball. Considering the aforementioned sports are what we talk about most here at Section 400, I’m going to assume if your reading this you’ll be watching the games in the higher categories.

I will mention that the Miami Heat are starting to figure things out and look like a contender to make some noise in the Eastern Conference once again.
