What happened last night; November 29

My fiancé and I were given free tickets to a University of Maryland basketball game last night. The team played Rider University and proceeded to blow them out 101-70-something.

The game was fine, although it featured more fouls than the barns in the middle of campus. (There is a literal barn, stables, and field just yards away from the football stadium). Anyway, my gripe is with the food.

Now I know the Xfinity Center on a Tuesday night during “Finals Week” isn’t exactly a Michelin star restaurant, and I know most of the workers are college kids just trying to scrape up enough money to live like semi-respectable humans, but oh man that food was rough. Would not recommend the Ledo’s Pizza.

It has more issues than it being in a square shape.

Every single weekday, the guys from Section 400 will be providing a rundown of everything that happened in sports the night before.

Let’s get into it.

I feel terrible for the Orlando Magic.

The young team came into Tuesday night leading “East Group C” with solid odds of making their way into the NBA In-Season Tournament knockout stage.

Then the Chicago Bulls happened. The Boston Celtics came into the night needing a 23+ point victory and a Nets win in order to unseat the Magic as Group C champions. They beat the Chicago Bulls by 27.

In all honesty, the Celtics being in the tournament will make for a better product, but the Magic definitely played well enough to deserve a bid.

Boston joins the Bucks, Pacers, and Knicks in the knockout stages for the Eastern conference, creating a heck of a bracket for bandwagon fans everywhere. (I’m including myself on that list as I have fully hitchhiked my way into Indiana)

As for the Bulls, they’ve officially joined all other Chicago sports on the dumpster fire list. That cities culture has been on a downhill spiral since Chance the Rapper released “Hot Shower”.

De’Aaron Fox and the Sacramento Kings got a little taste of revenge of Tuesday Night.

After their storybook season ended with a brutal Game 7 loss in the playoffs at the hands of the Warriors, the Kings ended Golden State’s “NBA Cup” hopes on Tuesday night.

The Kings came into the night needing a win or a loss by less than 12 points to clinch a knockout stage birth. They got the win off the back of 20-point games from the aforementioned Fox, Malik Monk, and Kevin Huerter.

Sacramento improved to 10-6 on the season and 4-0 in the In-Season Tournament. They’ll join the Lakers, Suns, and Pelicans in the knockout stage in the West.

That bracket is going to be DOG FIGHT.

“Alabama fans love Alabama Football, Auburn fans love Auburn”- Pat Dye.

Yes I may be a *tad* biased in this upcoming take, but I think this is coming more from third base than it is left field.

The Alabama Crimson Tide got let down by their crowd Tuesday night in their loss to the Clemson Tigers. I know it’s finals week, and I know some may still be traveling back from Auburn on Saturday, but that place was more like a library than a basketball arena last night. Just ask Jay Williams.

Clemson deserves some credit too. Forward P.J Hall is one of the best players in the ACC, while guard Chase Hunter and Syracuse transfer Joseph Girard III pair with him to create a dynamic offensive team.

Still, Alabama losing this home game is unacceptable, especially considering Kentucky, a team they are supposed to be on-par with, dismantled Miami just hours before.
