What to Watch for Today; October 9.

Every single day, Section 400 will take you through the upcoming night’s slate of games, no matter how incredible, or how disgusting, it looks.

Today is Monday, and while we’re still recovering from a great weekend of football, we have some more big games of note tonight. As always, we’ll go through all of them below.

The best.

(MLB) Atlanta Braves vs. Philadelphia Phillies

(NFL) Las Vegas Raiders vs. Green Bay Packers

The Fightin’s are doin’ it again. After sweeping the Marlins in the Wild Card Round, the Phillies went into Atlanta and beat Spencer Strider and the 100+ win Braves in game 1 of the NLDS. They’ll try to take a distinct series advantage in game 2 on Monday.

Monday Night Football is always going to make “the best” list, but this game is not pretty. Read our roundtable where we give out our analysis on the major questions surrounding the game and hand you our favorite bets.

The best of the rest.

(MLB) Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Arizona Diamondbacks

(NBA) Oklahoma City Thunder vs. San Antonio Spurs

The Dodgers host the Diamondbacks in the other side of the National League playoff bracket. The Dodgers were pounced on by the Arizona early in game 1, as the D-Backs hung a crooked number on Dodgers starter Clayton Kershaw and cruised to a 11-2 win. Los Angeles is -162 on the money line to even up the series at home tonight.

Spurs 2023 first overall pick and “so-called” savior Victor Wembanyama faces off against Chet Holmgren and the Thunder in a preseason game Monday Night. The game is on NBA TV at the same time as Monday Night Football.

The rest.

(NBA) Knicks vs. Celtics

(NBA) Lakers vs. Nets

If your a real basketball head, this “the rest slate is for you”. These matchups feature some star-power, but unless you want to see Jayson Tatum and Anthony Davis do cardio for about 12 minutes you won’t miss much by skipping these.
