Section 400’s Week 10 Monday Night Football Roundtable

Week 10 of the NFL season concludes on Monday night when the 3-5 Denver Broncos travel to Buffalo to take on the surprisingly 5-4 Bills.

Denver is playing better football as of late after over a year of awful play, while the Bills have been stuck in mediocrity through the first nine weeks of the season.

With both of these teams desperately trying to “right the ship”, this AFC showdown should be interesting.

As will be the case every Monday during the NFL season, the guys from Section 400 are here to give their takes on the game.

Here is what Section 400 writers Brian Hauch and Jack Albanese are thinking heading into this AFC clash.

The Buffalo Bills make zero sense to me. They are uber-talented, well coached, and have a top 5 quarterback but are sitting at 5-4 with a brutal stretch of games coming up. Is this team a fraud?

BH: I’m going to break the fourth wall for the first time on these roundtables by saying I simply have no idea since I asked the question. What do you got Jack?

JA: The Bills are not the powerhouse we’ve come to know and love under Josh Allen. The offense has been lost all season long and the defense is beyond injured. With the record they have and the tough remaining schedule, I believe it’s too late for the Bills this year. Changes are going to have to be made this off-season in Buffalo.

The Broncos are pretty much dead in terms of making the playoffs this year but have looked better as of late. Do you have faith in Sean Payton, Russell Wilson, and this team moving forward?

BH: Russell Wilson is a “Legion of Boom” merchant who is too corny for his own good. He’s not winning anything ever again. The Broncos do look like they found a stud in running back Javonte Williams though.

JA: I won’t go as far as to say I have faith in the Broncos yet, but I am definitely thinking twice before placing bets against them. Sean Payton has figured something out. Denver should be frisky for the rest of the year, especially in Mile High.

Revenge of the Sith
Buffalo Bills/ X

Buffalo recently signed running back Leonard Fournette. What kind of role do u see for “Lombardi Lenny” moving forward?

BH: The Bills refuse to let my man James Cook, cook. I don’t hate this signing for Buffalo, but it doesn’t get me excited at all. The Bills’ lack of a run game is a scheme problem, not a personnel issue. Just let James get into a rhythm and cook for the love of god.

JA: Lenny is an experienced, hard-nosed football player. He joins Buffalo to help out their ground-and-pound game and to take some load off of James Cook in the backfield. “Lenny” is pretty washed at this point so don’t expect any big plays from him, although he may still have a truck or two in the tank. Overall, I don’t see this acquisition making much of an impact.

The Empire Strikes Back

Monday Night Football didn’t go our way last week. Let’s get back on track this time. I need your favorite bet.

BH: This game is going to be hard to watch, and it’s even harder to predict. The Bills have not been covering all season, so I’m going to take the Broncos +7.5. I already hate it. I always took first drive punt on the podcast so there’s that.

JA: This is going to be an ugly game. I took the under on the podcast so I’ll stick to that here. I also lean the Broncos +7.5, but my official play is the under in this one.

MK: [Taken from the Podcast, which you can watch here] Stefon Diggs over 87.5 receiving yards and Bills -6.5.

Matt called the final score of the Bears game on Thursday. Let’s see if we can get two in a row.

BH: Bills barely get by the Broncos, 27-23.

JA: Bills win an ugly one, 20-14.
