I can’t quite tell you why your car is in the front yard, or why you slept with your clothes on, but don’t worry, I’m not gone.
Every single day, the guys from Section 400 will be providing a rundown of everything that happened in the world of sports the night before.
With the baseball regular season done with and the NHL and NBA still kicking off the preseason, Thursdays tend to lend themselves towards smaller slates, but we’ve got you covered in case you missed anything nonetheless.
The Chicago Bears finally find the win column.

The Chicago Bears stomping of the Washington Commanders headlined Thursday’s action.
Bears quarterback Justin Fields had himself another great game, throwing for 282 yards and 4 touchdowns. Three of those went to D.J Moore, who accounted for nearly 82% of his teams air yards on the night.
Fields has now thrown for 617 yards and 8 touchdowns over the last 2 games after throwing for just 526 yards in the Bears first 3 contests.
The Commanders offensive line struggled to protect quarterback Sam Howell, giving up 5 sacks in the game after Chicago’s front seven had just 2 entering Thursday.
Howell ended up throwing the ball a career high 51 times on a night his team was a home favorite but lost its third straight game.
Mo[o]re Great Receiving.

D.J Moore may have stole the show on Thursday, but he wasn’t the only wide receiver to go off on the gridiron.
We put the Western Kentucky vs Louisiana Tech game in our “best games of the day” category in yesterday’s preview because of one thing and one thing only. WKU receiver Malachi Corley.
Corley treated us to a monster performance, catching 8 of 12 targets for 207 yards and 3 touchdowns. Most importantly, he led the Hilltoppers to a 35-28 road win to improve them to 2-0 in CUSA and 4-2 overall.
We talkin’ bout practice.

We had ourselves an NBA game on Thursday! Yes, it was a matinee preseason game between an 8 seed and a non-playoff team from last year, but an NBA game nontheless.
Luka Dončić led all scorers with 25 points in just 17 minutes of action, while Karl-Anthony Towns (20 points in 17 min), Naz Reid (16 points in 18 min), and Nickeil Alexander-Walker (11/5/5 in 22 min) led the Timberwolves to a 111-99 home win.
Bruins, Coyotes, and Preds, oh my.

NHL fans were treated to a full slate of preseason action last night. Despite most first-line skaters playing minimal minutes, the action was entertaining as we saw 3 games go to overtime.
